I have had the pleasure of having the best partner in my lower school art classes for many years now. I say partner because it truly is a partnership. She has been my helper for so long she can almost read my creativity and know what I need help with. I can’t imagine not having her to organize the supplies and help me keep these large art classes going. I know that if I need to be gone she is there, no sub is needed. She helps with art camp without pay and always ask me before she leaves for the day is there anything else I can do for you. She has prayed for me, been an ear when I needed to talk to someone and most of all she has become my friend. I’m truly blessed by this sweet lady.
This year at Christmas I wanted to do something special for her. I gave her a card that said:
“You may pick one piece of furniture from my storage stash and I will Blue Happy it up for you. Don’t be shy you can pick anything you want.”
At first she said no that’s to generous. Thats Stephanie, always gracious and saying oh no thank you even when she deserves it. She never came to the storage unit but did say I would love to have a round table for my kitchen. I took that and ran with it. I even found a table that had a hidden leaf to make the table larger with the pop of a clip. Great to have when you have company. She said all black with a shabby chic look.
It took a few weeks for me to come across a table and then redo time. So the table has been done for a while but with my 2 stores, her photography business, family, church, mission trip, school, art camp and the list goes on we just got around to delivering the table to her beautiful home. Now I normally take photo’s of my pieces and they are okay. You can see the change and detail in each one of my restored pieces. Stephanie out did herself with this photo. I mean really, now my photo’s look crappy. I did say she has a photography business if you are in need let me know and I’ll share her info.
Now this table is tucked away in her home. She and her 3 daughters will have girl talk at this table. Stephanie and her husband will talk about life here, pay bills and eat meals. I’m sure there will also be daddy daughter time as well. This table sits in the hub of her home and will be lathered in love.
On a side note while I was at Stephanie’s home I noticed a beautiful piece of furniture in the family room. When I complimented it Stephanie said I bought it at a garage sale. What a treasure she found for her home. It was black with carved detail and had hardware that was rare. Sadly 2 or the 4 drawers were missing the hardware. When I got home I realized in my stash of old hardware I had 5 of the same type of hardware. I took a picture and sent it to her. She was so excited. I’m holding on to them until we meet up at school in July. I love that I can return salvaged hardware to a piece it should belong to.
