I’m pretty sure this desk/table top piece was meant to be used to organize mail or paper work. It would work great for that, but I plan to make it so much more. I don’t have to do any big reconstruction to it, nor do I have to add anything to it. I just wanted to update the color a bit and cover up the 1990’s look. I picked black because it goes pretty much with any decor out there. I did shabby chic it up a bit for two reasons. I love shabby chic and the other reason if it gets nicked up from wear oh well you will never know it.
The story behind this piece is quiet funny. Greg and I shop a lot of thrift stores, Goodwill, junk stores and many other avenues. You have to keep an open mind when you shop these kinds of stores. If you aren’t careful you can walk right past a jewel. This almost happened to this piece because I was tired and not really paying attention. That is why it’s great to have a partner walking the store with you. These type pieces are all over and the price is just right. I only paid $4 for this piece, I added $2 in spray paint and now it’s ready to serve in your home so many ways.
First let’s go into the kitchen. Organize you paper goods and condiment packages.
How about on your desk for stationary and cards.
You all know I love a great bathroom vanity organizer and this little guy has got you covered.
This one has to be my favorite if you have kids and in my case grands. I love it as an art box placed where they know it will be all the time.
It doesn’t take much to organize your home if you are willing to redo, reuse, recycle and think outside of the ordinary box. I love to find items that make my home organized Blue Happy. This little box full of organizing will be at Doc Holliday’s 113 S Birmingham Wylie on Wednesday 4/18.
