Blue Happy MIA

No blog for 3 day’s. It’s Friday evening at 8:58pm and I’ve just sat down at my computer for the first time in 3 day’s. My day-to-day life has been on full speed starting Wednesday morning and ending tonight. I’ve experienced some life long memories over the past 72 hours I will hold dear for years.

Wednesday morning started with the regular gym time and home to get ready for school. The school day was a bit weird because our students had a testing schedule that made the day seem like it was leaning at 90 degrees all day. Preparing for the evening festivities was a blessing. I have a student that entered a high school collegiate program her Jr year. Wednesday night was the Seniors Honors Banquet for the top 25% in the class. She was allowed to invite one teacher that inspired her along with her parents. I have never in my life felt so humble, honored and overwhelmed in my teaching career. It was an amazing night with young adults that have worked so hard to finish up their high school careers with honors. I can’t put into words how much this young lady means to me. I’ve taught her from a very young age and to watch her be honor was trilling. She is bright, beautiful, honest, dependable and more words than you will have time to read. She has set her goals in life high and without a doubt will reach way beyond those goals. Watching students you have come to know personally and loved graduate is for lack of words hard to watch.  It’s sad to say goodby but exciting to know this child will do great things.  I will miss my sweet Bry and her contagious smile but I’m blessed to have gotten to share a part of her life.  Thank you Sonya and Bryant for sharing her with me.

Arriving home after 8:30 was so worth giving up a little sleep but off to bed to prepare for a full day on Thursday.  My front yard was full with 6 beautiful teenagers and 3 moms ready for Honors Art Club yearly trip to Waco.  We left at 7am and headed for Magnolia Table.  Oh my goodness the food is out of this world and the service is over the top amazing.  If you go to Waco it’s worth the wait.  Oh and that wait was under a great patio and a coffee bar to keep you comfortable.  We also visited the Take Away gift store and of course I got a T-shirt.

Off to the Silo’s to have a cupcake and visit the store.  It was Joanna’s birthday so there was a special birthday cupcake.  I wanted my favorite Toasted Coconut so I bought the birthday cupcake to take home.  My plans were to share it with Greg Friday night after dinner.  We hung out a bit on the Silo ground and had such a good time in the swings.  I love spending time with these girls they keep me young and sometimes make me glad I’m not.  No way could I keep up with all they do.

On our way out of Waco to our next big adventure we stopped at Cameron Trading Company where my store is.  The girls looked around and said they loved all that I was doing in my booth.  We only stayed there long enough for me to drop off a few things.

Our next adventure was to Heritage Homestead just outside of Waco.  I love this place and so do these girls.  We visited all the artisans and watched as they taught classes.  I think we all loved the Iron workshop the best, but maybe the pottery house was also a loved event as well.  We sat under the shade trees and ate our cupcakes and the girls sketched a bit.

All of the events took us from 7am until we arrived back on my street at 7pm.  This trip was special because next year one of these girls will be a senior and graduate to move on in life.  I love Honors Art Club and spending time with these girls each and every Tuesday morning.  The once a year field trip is the cherry on top of and amazing year.

I’ll be back blogging about projects next week.  Life just got a bit turned upside down this week.  I’m so tired but so blessed and on top of that there is a Magnolia cupcake in my frig.
