Last night was the art show for Wylie Prep art students. Wow what a night to celebrate some amazing kids and their talented pieces. Each child showed off their work with pride and some even surprised themselves at what they accomplished. I love to see their faces when they see their work. As long as I have been a teacher I have never let parents see the art work their kids do until the night of the show. I keep every piece at school until that special night. Even the kids forget about how it looked so their faces are like Christmas morning as they walk into the art show. I took photo’s of just a few of the pieces. There is no way I could post one picture from each child I have over 100 students. But I wanted to share with you just a few.
Being a teacher is not a job for me, it never has been. Twelve years ago I answered a call from my Lord and Savior to come and teach at Wylie Prep. I’ve always said I’m here until he tells me any different. I love what I do, I love and cherish each of the kids that walk into my class room. Once they are my student weather they return each year or not they own a piece of my heart. It has never been about money it’s always been about a calling I answered and will continue to answer until he tells me it’s time to go. These kids own my heart and they bless me everyday!
Children are the warmth in our hearts, the love of our lives and the hope of a future.
