Today will be day 3 of art camp. I’m so tired that I can’t even find the words to talk when I get home each day. Blogging seems like the biggest effort this week. When I do blog I find myself forgetting about how much my feet, legs and body in all hurts. This week has been wonderful, the kids are having a blast and the weather has been tolerable. Two more days of camp and we can put another successful art camp in the books for Wylie Prep.
I was going to come home on Wednesday and finish up a dresser I almost have finished. Well that didn’t happen I ran out of time after prepping for Thursdays art camp. So that will have to wait until Fridays blog. It’s worth the wait because this one is beautiful. It’s done in a gorgeous Annie Sloan paint that I’ve done before but some how it’s different. The hardware sets the mood for this dresser with all its beauty. Some how down this blogging road and opening a booth at Doc Holliday’s Emporium I’ve carved out a special way to dress a dresser. My dressers go out the door of Doc’s so fast. I think I might need to keep one done on hand all the time.
I’m looking forward to sharing this one on Friday. I bought it from a local friend. She was cleaning out her garage and thought of me. I feel a little pressure on the outcome of this piece. As her husband helped me load it he said this has been with me many years. Oh no this one has to be very special. Furniture can hold special places in our hearts. From where grandma always sat, Little Tommy’s childhood chair or the bedroom set passed down from generation to generation it can be disheartening if someone disrespected it. I always try my very best to restore furniture and give it new life. At best I always try to give it a Blue Happy finish.
