Greg and I haven’t really done any big projects around the house lately. Life has been so busy we haven’t really thought about our list of things to do. When we started our list was really long of things to remodel around our home. One by one we have removed things from the list. Summer is almost her and so is my last surgery so I feel the need to knock off one more things.
What’s left to do and what can I get done before the end of May?
- remodel the Jack and Jill bathroom
- tile the front porch
- redo dual sided fire-place
- add shutters to my studio to block the hot Texas sun
- do a makeover on the deck of my studio
- build a deck off the workshop
- texture the garage floor
- paint all the trim & doors inside the house
- Put up barn doors in guest room closet, laundry room, master bathroom
There are a few more things but I don’t put them on the list so I don’t scare Greg too much. When we take off a few I add-on a few so the list really never gets smaller her just thinks it does. I looked over the list and decided that this weekend I would do………….Add shutters to my studio to block the hot Texas sun and make over my studio deck. Yes on Saturday after the art show I’m going to tackle these things on my list. We bought old shutters in Waco on one of our many trips. The great things is they are 2 different sets in 2 different sizes. I love the not matching it give it character. I will paint them both out in white to match the trim on the studio. Not matching becomes matching when it’s painted out the same color. I guess it’s the same but different thought process. Greg is going to make them where they will open in the morning but in the afternoon when the sun hits them I can close them. My deck is just plain and boring with nothing to make it inviting so this weekend I’m going to fix that. I’m not going to tell you what I have up my sleeve but you will love it. Greg just rolled his eyes and walked away. All while I was asking you are gonna help with this right?
So Monday look for a really cool make over to my studio and see how I make it more inviting on a dime. I’ll have before and after pictures. I will say this the makeover will be vintage shabby chic with a touch of our red, white and blue theme. There will be plenty of recycled items that I will redo to be reused. Summer is the best time of the year and I love all it brings here in Texas even the hot hot summer days.
