Over my life time I have found many treasures. This past weekend was another time in my life I found a treasure. When I started teaching at Wylie Prep I had no idea of the treasures I would find in these kids. Every year is like a new gift. Every year I watch my past students grow and new students open their hearts to the art experience. There is no way I could put into words how much my life has been enriched by these kids. They are by far a blessing and one of the many treasures I’m allow to experience on this earth. I’m so thankful!
My family without a doubt are my biggest treasure. I love them so much and I’m grateful that I get to watch them grow in their life journey. When I was a young momma I never really thought about them as adults they were just my babies. Now that they are adults and have babies I so appreciate that I got to be their momma. Those grand babies are just the cream on top of an amazing life and my 30 year marriage is the cherry on top.
Not all treasure are big one’s sometimes you just find a treasure that makes you happy. Sunday afternoon was one of those days to find a treasure. I needed to go to Lowes To get a few supplies. I’m rebuilding a wire rolling shelf and I wanted to add wood shelves to each wire basket. I also needed spray paint so Greg and John went one way and I went the other. When I went back to find them that is when they showed me the treasure. At Lowes when they cut wood for people they have scraps. They toss it in a large bin and it’s FREEEEEEEEEEEEE! WHAT! FREE WOOD JUST FOR THE TAKING. I thought my heart was gonna beat outta my chest. I got the wood I need to finish the wire rack. I bought the other wood I needed and the paint and out the door I went with a cart full of free scrap wood. I’m smiling ear to ear at that point. Greg and John made all kinds of fun about how excited I got but I don’t care. I love free stuff and oh the things I can create.
Life is so precious, look around and see your treasures. We are all guilty of not cherishing these treasures because we are all so busy. Just because they aren’t as big it’s still a treasure to be found and cherish. I love knowing that God provides these small treasures all through out your life. These aren’t just accidents or weird happenings they are special and we should enjoy them. Family, friends, employment are all big treasure we all can see and enjoy. It’s those small treasures you have to look for like a sale when you need to stretch your money, something free on the side of the road when you need that something or someone being kind on a day you need it the most. Look for those treasures and enjoy them they might not stay around long. Be grateful and thankful for all you have and those Blue Happy moments.
