Blue Happy Living

I have been working way before the sun came up today.  I know my blog is late coming out but if you saw all the amazing pieces that are sitting in my dinning room you would understand.  Crazy to think that the March Sidewalk sale at Doc Holliday’s is here already.  I started preparing for this the day after February sidewalk sale.  I will have 2 truck loads of items to show this Saturday 10-6 right in front of the store.  I just want to show you all picture’s of the line I’ve come up with this month.  I’ll hold back a little bit and show you only a few of the items I have done.

First a dresser that had seen better days.  The drawers needed so much repair work.  Two of the drawers repaired really easy but two not so much. I had to revamp the dresser from 6 drawers to 4 drawers.  By doing this it made the dresser more compatible to other rooms in the house.  It would work great in the entry of a home with all its storage and open space.  How easy to organize things for the next day by using the drawers and the open basket for a fast grab and excite in the morning.  I love the idea of putting this in the kitchen for extra storage of dishes you don’t use all the time.  You could even turn this into a dry bar by removing the basket.  In the kitchen idea’s could be endless but it also has great bathroom use as well.  You don’t have to think hard to come up with all the bathroom uses like towels, clothing, hygiene items and the list goes on.  Let’s not forget about its normal use in the bedroom or in a hallway to store linens. So many things come to mind to organize the home. Just one more idea would be in the home office.  Remove the basket and put your printer in that spot.  A simple drilled hole to the back will let you put your printer cords out the back.

The center of the family room is most often the sofa.  What sits in front of the sofa is equally as important.   I have VERY LARGE ottomans in front of mine.  Yes 2 ottomans 1 for Cooper 1 for Cherry,  if we are lucky Greg and I get a small place for our feet. I found this coffee table on the side of the road and I just finished it today.  Wow what a transformation! I have a book where I make notes on how I’m gonna do a piece, trust me when I say I went down a completely different road.  What is on paper isn’t what was sitting in front of me when I finished.  That is the way it goes sometimes my crazy art brain takes over and well that’s it.  This table can be used in the family room or on a covered patio.  The top is engineered wood flooring that I found in someone’s trash, so it’s great for wear and tear.

I have so many other pieces that will be there on Saturday.  For those of you that live to far away and can’t come to the sale I will be slowly posting these items on my blog.  If you live close by and your coming to the sale make sure you come early last month by 2 it was almost all gone.  Yes only after 4 hours into the sale I had only a few items left.  I’m giving 20% off Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Now that can make any body Blue Happy.

One more sneak peek is this amazing bench. Painted out in Annie Sloan Olive Green. The seat is recovered with an antique scarf brought back from Australia. I purchased it at an estatesale.
