You know how you get up every morning and have this list of things to do and you go about your day. Well that is how I started mine and boy did it take a hard turn left. I mean really I had my entire day planned out to the last-minute and POW was it very different at the end of the day looking back. So much to tell you but I’ll have to wait until Thursday or Friday to tell you the story because there isn’t an ending as of yet.
What I did get done was this great little project. Although it got side tracked until the end of the day It did get finished. Remember your grandmother sitting in her relaxing chair mending and sewing things. I do she always had a stack of things to fix with button, hems or just a worn out hole. Next to her chair like a lot of grandmothers was a sewing box or cabinet like this little table. I found this in an auction and thought it was full of memories and it needed to have a restored life. Not to many grandmothers do sewing anymore I know this grandmother/Lolli doesn’t. So that is why it needed a restored life, recreated into something of renewed value. It turned out amazing! I want bore you with the details of how I redid it, been there done that a few times so there is really nothing different to share. What I do want to share is how many new ways this cabinet can be used in your life and home.
Lets start in the family room. It would be great next to a comfortable chair with decorative items or even a lamp on top. The drawers could hold the remotes, your Bible and study notes, children books to read to your kiddo’s or even crossword puzzle books. There are many things we keep near us in our family room that need a place to be stored and this little table is great storage.
In the kitchen it could be used as a drink station or extra prep space. Filling the drawers with items you need to entertain your guest makes it easy to grab when company arrives. No more looking for straws, napkins or plastic ware.
My all time favorite to find storage for is that make up that piles up all over your bathroom. This cabinet is small enough to put in most any bathroom to organize all the magical potions that make you pretty everyday. I know I have a few and I love having a place just for my make up brushes so they don’t get dirty.
Ahhhh yes what to do with all that jewelry. I have over 100 bracelets I know I don’t wear them all at once and most of them only a few times a year so storage is important. I like to have them out of the dust and stored so they are bright and clean when I do wear them. I’m sure I can fill all three drawers and the extra tray in the bottom drawer with lots of shiny jewelry.
Need a night stand that whimsical and full of storage? This is your little table then with all its gold and glitter. If you are like me at bed time you have all kinds of things you need next to you. I only have 1 drawer and its full of many things. I need more and maybe I’ll add some storage to my night table/desk in the next few weeks.
Last but not least there is always a school project going on. “Mom I need tape, glue, marker or craft supplies” and here is where you store it until they ask for it. You don’t have to go digging around or run to Hobby Lobby because you can’t find it. Organized and stored until you need it makes your life easy and homework a breeze.
There it is 6 ways to use 1 table. I’m sorry it’s late but it got to you before midnight and so that counts right. I’ve already wrote, approved and schedule Wednesday and Thursdays blog so no worries about the day getting away from me. Remember I’ll share the rest of my day at the end of the week. Have a Blue Happy evening.
BTW this little table is already up at Doc Holliday’s Emporium 113 S Birmingham Wylie Tx. Store hours: Sun1-5, Mon 11-6, Tues-Sat 10-6
