Blue Happy Living

I got a phone call from my son Wednesday afternoon just before my last class was over. He said “you ready to meet your newest granddaughter”? Well duh that’s a dumb question of course I am. A sonogram showed that Lyla might need to be born by c-section so that is what went down last night.  By 5:30 we got a call to come to the hospital that Ali was going into the OR.  So off we went to the hospital to wait.  It wasn’t a long wait shortly after 6 she had arrived.

Lyla Mae was born 6 weeks early so she will spend some time in the NICU.  She is doing well and her weight was good for a premie.  She tips the scale at 5lbs  1oz, a head full of hair and my son said boy can she cry loud.  Ali is doing well, resting and healing.  Of course Dallas is tired and walking around on adrenaline.  I’ve never seen Dallas or Ali so happy before.  They seem like they have won the lottery and I guess they have.  It is clear they are in love with this little girl and in love with each other.  As a parent it’s hard not to worry, they’re so young and now a baby.  Greg reminded me we were younger when we had Heather, lived almost a 1000 miles away from home and we didn’t have much of anything. We and our kids turned out just fine.  I thought about that for a minute and relaxed knowing God has them in his care.  I  just prayed for blessings and gave it to God.

We got home really late because we waited to see her.  I didn’t get to hold her but I did get to see her.  She is so beautiful and tiny with so much hair.  I can’t wait to put bows on that baby girl.  Now that I have 2 granddaughters there isn’t a bow safe in the DFW area.  We got caught a bit the nursery isn’t finished, but Dallas and I will do that in a few days.  She will stay in the NICU to grow a little stronger and then come home.  I love that I’m a Lollie to all 3 of my grandkids.  They are what makes life so sweet these days.  Greg and I are just crazy over all of them.  I can’t wait until Ethan realizes he is surrounded by girls.  He is going to be such a great cousin as he is a great big brother to Scarlett.  Christmas gets bigger every year with my house full of love, family and grand babies.  I wouldn’t have it any other way! Have a great blessed Blue Happy Thursday. I’m gonna try while I babysit the oddest dog ever that jumps all day. I have Hartley their dog. He drives me crazy!! He’s a sweet dog just way to much energy.
