There are so many idea’s out there right now to decorate your home. So many of those are very popular and you can find them in many of the decorating stores, craft stores and online. Many of them are great and most would love to have them but then you see the price tag of such decor. WOW, I don’t think so not today. I wish I wasn’t so cheap but that’s just me.
One of those new and popular ideas is the cotton. What you find in the stores and online are imitation, man-made and small. I have the best partner in Blue Happy because when I often talk about a project I’m sure he isn’t paying attention. I wanted to do a few things for door decor and I looked into the cost of some of these man-made cotton bolls. Oh my they are so proud of those things. I expressed my unhappiness at the cost and said well that project is out. You all know I’m all about saving on the comforts of the home and that includes decorating items. I moved on until my sweet husband came home from Arkansas a few weeks back and brought me a load of cotton bolls. That’s right not the fake stuff but the for real stuff. I was so excited but I was in the mist of preparing for our big art show at school and then days later had my surgery. I finally found the time over the holiday’s and got to work on wreaths for the door.
This is going to add simple but lots of beauty to any door you hang it on. I used grapevine wreaths from Hobby Lobby and added the cotton bolls, some leaves and burlap bows. I made 3 of them and made them all different. They turned out so very pretty and I love the ones I pulled all the cotton off and used the base of the boll as accents. The cost of this cotton set me back a really big huge and a sweet kiss. I love when he surprises me and I think he isn’t paying attention to me but he really is. I’m always surprised.
