Working hard putting together some great pieces to share with you at my up coming event. On Saturday February the 11th Doc Holliday’s Emporium 113 S Birmingham Wylie Tx will have its first sidewalk sale of the year. I can’t wait it’s gonna be so much fun to share with you and all the Doc customers some undercover piece’s I’ve been working on.
I’ll have one of a kind pieces never seen on the blog. My collection will be everything from out-door furniture, home decor and furniture. It’s not all blue so don’t worry there will be something for everyone. Not only will I have lots of items but the entire store will be stocked and open for you to shop from. Trash trolling has provided me with some great pieces to work with but as you know with me no piece I find stays the way I find it. A few of these piece’s are a bit artsy and full of personality.
One of the most popular items I make are the wine bars so at this sale there will be a few wine bars for you to pick from. I’ve got a great small kitchen island that is multifunctional and a set of chairs that are amazing and beautiful. Let me tell you a bit more about these chairs. They were covered in the ugliest paint job and when I started to sand them the wood underneath was beautiful. I couldn’t repaint them and cover the wood so I stained them and gave them new fabric covered seats. Great to sit in any room as accent chairs and over flow seating for company. I have two 1950’s style end tables painted out to update them for many years to come. There is going to be so many pieces that have been recycled to a restored life it will be hard to pick your favorite.
I was ask lately “why do you do this trash troll recycle business”? Well that’s easy I hate to see waste. I believe we have become a society of toss out. We toss out something that clearly has much more life to give and that includes everything. We toss out people and relationships, furniture, cars and pets. Sadly something only holds a value as long as it is giving back to us and makes us happy. When the shiny wears off we become bored and without any care or repair we toss it out. Now don’t everyone email me at once, I’m not saying everyone is like that but the bulk of society is and that is heart breaking.
I said that I don’t make New Years resolutions and I don’t. I do make goals for myself and this year I’ve made a big, big goal. I’m going to try to save and create 150 new pieces of recycled furniture. I have other goals that are more serious but this goal is my fun challenging goal. Some of these pieces I’ll recycle will be for my booth at Doc Holliday’s and some will be for special friends. I have already made a list of special friends that I will gift one of my pieces. What goals do you have for yourself this new year? Make sure you have a fun goal so you add some Blue Happy times. I hope your hump day is special! See you on February the 11th at Doc’s!
