Every year around this time Christmas cards begin to come in the mail. I try every year to do this but the past few I haven’t been the best at it. Well I haven’t done it at all. Not because I didn’t want to but because it just didn’t fit in to my crazy holiday routine. I’m making it priority this year!
I wanted to send a special card to mark this a continued tradition with my family. I went on-line to find a special card and boy are there lots to consider. I settled on a company called Simply to Impress. They offered great prices and delivered my cards in 4 days. I’m in the process of chasing Greg around for addresses. Mine all ready to send his not so much.
When I receive a Christmas card from someone I appreciate it so much. I look at it as a gift from that family. It takes time, thought, money and effort to get them ready to send. So why not think of it as a gift. What do you do with all the cards you get. Well here is where my TRADITION OF CHRISTMAS CARDS comes in. When I get them I open them and read them front to back. I love to see how people choose to greet you for the holiday. My favorite are the ones with pictures. I always compare them to past photo cards sent to our home. After I’m done reading the card I place it on my tree. Yes that is what I said I place it on my tree so that others visiting my home can see and enjoy them as well. The first card I received this year was from a student. I’ve taught both these girls and love having them in my class. I hope that I continue to get a card from them in years to come so I can watch them grow. I added the red bow to cover their name for privacy.
At the end of the holiday season I place the cards in a box right on top of the cards from the year before. I love to look back through them and compare how families grow and remember great holiday’s past. How ever you decided to display your received Christmas cards do it so others can enjoy them as well. If you want one of my very special Christmas cards send me your address I’d love to send one to you. Have a great Blue Happy Monday!

December 5, 2016My mom use to decorate our house with them! I remember the door ways lined with Christmas cards from years past and of course new ones added. She would take them to Garland that was strung around the door jam :). Thank you for bringing up this memory! I will have to carry this tradition
