Wine Anyone

October 5, 2016

I know and have a lot of friends that drink wine. It’s not that I’m against wine I just don’t care for wine. It’s not my thing. For those that are wine nuts like my husband you can appreciate this piece I just finished.

A few years back Greg would get wine for gifts from his bosses, co-workers, friends and even neighbors. Then things got really out of control when we went to California on a wine tour with Janice and David. His collection grew out of this little wood stand.  So on to bigger and better Greg bought a wine frig. Out went the wood stand into the garage and then into my stash of furniture in my storage unit. There it has sat for a year or so but no more cause I recycled it and boy is it different now.

We never got around to staining or painting it. Kinda funny because my blog is all about that kinda stuff. Never the less It’s painted now in a medium gray color using Valspar project spray paint. I stained the top and the back board I attached. I lightly sanded the edges and clear coat was applied top to bottom.  By adding the back board it will make the piece have more weight and height in any room. I know that those who drink wine like to keep the corks so that was the purpose of adding the wire basket at the top. It was really one of the easiest projects I’ve ever done. Easy but what a statement to add to any room in your home.

Redoing, recycling and organizing things you use every day is what makes your house into a home for you and your family. Imagine getting up to get our the door to school and work and not looking all over the house for what you need. It’s all there organized and ready to go when you are. This can seem like a dream but it’s not you just have to do it one room at a time. Today is hump day and we are almost back to the weekend. Maybe today is the day to make plans to organize a room or entryway. Or maybe get your wine all in one place to enjoy. The wine holder is at Doc Hollidays in Wylie waiting on a new home. Have a Blue Happy Wednesday!!!
