Off we went to Oklahoma as soon as I was done with school on Friday. I needed new places to shop, new junk to dig through and I love to get away. Besides this will be the last trip out-of-town until January. So much is happening in the next few weeks. I’m over the top full with promises and commitments so no more traveling until after the holidays.
Friends of ours live in Oklahoma and she was telling me all about these great junk stores. Jokingly I said well maybe we will come see you guys and you can take me to all these stores. Next thing I knew we were on our way to Oklahoma to shop. It was a fast and quick trip got there late Friday night had a great dinner. It was nice to relax and just have adult conversation without rushing around doing projects. We were up saturday morning to start shopping around 9am.
Oh my goodness Oklahoma was good to Blue Happy. The first store I ended up buying nothing for BHL but I did find a jewel for my daughters new home. More on that when I start blogging about decorating it. My friend works at a real estate office and she got wind of an estate sale so we went. She confessed to me that she doesn’t like going to these sales. What? Why in the world would you not like this. She said I feel like I don’t fit in like everyone is looking at me. My response Oh my gosh nope not me, don’t care what people think, I love this kinda stuff. She gave out one of her big giggles and away we went to shop.
Treasures, treasure and more treasure!!! I was making a pile as high as my studio at the front table. I think the workers were a bit nervous, I’m sure they had never seen a Texas girl shop cause she don’t drop people. I was on a high really as if I had been given a drug. This sale was jackpot, pay dirt and all the other weird sayings about successfully finding a great sale. I got a set of 8 lockers, a Lenox platter, 3 small wood items to redo, 3 Christmas wood decorations, a sold wood checker board table top, metal tool box, night stand, 8 pencil bags (needed for my classroom), wrought iron wall hanging that was 3ftx4ft and a few other small items to be used for project add ons. It’s a lot, right and I’m sure you think I paid a lot right? NOPE! For all this $115, yep that’s it not a penny more. I can’t wait until you see these projects and how I bring restored life to them. On to the next stop in Oklahoma.
After that we had to get something to eat after all that drained any energy I had getting that excited. We had lunch at this great seafood place and enjoyed lunch on a patio until a bee decided to invade our space. Not a fan of these guys because they seem to always send me to the hospital. After lunch we visited so many stores. To be honest I lost count there were so many stores. I bought many things to redo and restore to a new life as something else. Sorry no pictures of the goodies bought you will have to wait and see one at a time.
After shopping all day we spent the rest of the evening just visiting and laughing. I love that people are interested in what I do and how my crazy mind works. I’m not shy to talk about what I’m trying to do with Blue Happy and how I get my ideas. Most of all I love that people still love me even though I’m a bit weird and artsy. Thank you Travis and Christy for your Hospitality
I’m blessed and have a blessed life in which I live. I know God is watching over me and he planned this life I live so blessed and happy. I’m so grateful and thankful I was chosen to live this way. My head full of ideas, creativity and quirkiness makes me who I am and that is so good. Have a Blue Happy week and make some memories big or small!!
