You hear people talk about it all the time. At special moments in your life you have had people give speeches about it. As a believer I’ve heard about your God given gift. For me there has never been a question as to what that gift was. My art has always been a part of me. I knew at a very young age creativity ran through my heart and soul. I’ve often said if I couldn’t create art I couldn’t breath. It is my soul and who I am each day. Without it I wouldn’t exist.
I never wanted to just have a job to make money and live paycheck to paycheck. I wanted to follow my heart and create things. Some say I sold out when I became a teacher. I beg to differ everyday I create a child’s heart to love art. For me that is the best part of my creative world. I’ve had several students go on to art school and have successful careers in the art world. Blue Happy Living is about my love of my gift. I try to share with others how to create even when you don’t have a lot to create with. I was blessed to have a husband that has always gone along with my creative heart. Never once has he ever ask me to get a real job. He knows my heart and knows I need to create. Recently I was presented with an opportunity to start a new career. It would pay more than I’ve ever made before. When I told Greg he was so loving and said well if thats something you would wanna do, but I don’t know if you would be happy. He knows me and for that I’m so thankful.
I have so many friends that are gifted and its right in front of them but they just haven’t opened it up. A writer is what one friend should be. Gifted to a point that would take the world by storm if pen ever goes to paper. Wow what a story this writer could write. I have so many friends who can sew, sing, dance and teach. Others who are blessed to preach, run, raise children and run an online business. Opening the gift you are giving can be very scary and seem impossible, but what are the possibilities you are passing up if you don’t open that gift? Whatever your gift, you need to explore how to make this a part of your life. If you don’t open your gift you are cheating yourself and those around you.
I’m going to expose a friend here on my blog she has a gift that I believe she needs to explore. Ever so often she will publish her work on Facebook. She does it as if it’s no big deal when she post these photo’s. She has been my friend for almost 20 years. She is gifted with a camera and somehow needs to find a purpose for her talents. I hope you all love her work as much as I do. Her name is Jackie and I think her gift is amazing.
