As you all know I was in a fashion show last night that was hosted by the Bariatric Program and Doctors at Medical City in Dallas. Dr Fox that did my surgery and has supported me for the past 4 years. Fox Bariatrics is at Medical City. I was honored to represent him and his staff as a successful patient.
I was scared to death, no really I’m pretty sure that I stopped breathing a couple of times while they made us wait on those stairs. Just before the show I was so nervous, then a text came across my phone. It said “we are right behind you”. I felt ease come over my stomach, my heart rate slowed a bit and my feet were grounded. My gym gals had slipped in and were in the crowded room just before I had to go back and get dressed. They are like sisters and the best friends a girl could ever have. Thank you Nicole, Mina, Rhonda and Mrs. Eddye for coming and those that didn’t make it thank you as well. Your texted messages, Facebook message and Instagram messages were carried in my heart through out the night. WOW how blessed am I to have these gals in my life. So prayerfully over whelmed in giving thanks today. Another big surprise my son’s girl friend and bride to be showed up last night. Now that might seem simple but you don’t understand this girl doesn’t like to and doesn’t do it very well and that is highway driving. It was a big deal for her to drive all the way to Medical City to watch my show. She had no idea where in this big medical building it was being held. If you have ever driven to Medical City and tried to find something there you understand this was a big big deal for her. Thank you Ali for coming to see me walk the runway. My bestie Karen couldn’t be there but she was with me in spirit. I talked with her many hours about all this fashion model stuff and my fears. She is on her last of treatments and then we will be tearing up the road and on the go. The beautiful lady standing behind me is Andrea, she is one of Dr. Foxes staff members. She has been a special friend all the way through this journey. Our surgeries brought us together and our friendship is a special gift we earned from all of this!!
Well I’m gonna just post all the pictures now but before I stop blogging I just have one thing to say. Step out of your comfort and dance on the edge a bit. I did and I’m glad I did. Here’s to dancing on the edge more and more in my life. God Bless you all and have a Blue Happy weekend!
