Our family loves the patio pretty much year round. We have family and friends over almost every weekend. Even when it’s not party time you will find us on the patio swimming and hanging out. My kids grew up that way and have continued that in their own homes. My daughters new home has this great covered patio. Clint also grew up in a family that loves hanging out with family and on the patio. It was no surprise that when they started the build of their new home they enlarged the covered patio. BBQ in Texas is important and this patio will be rock’n many BBQ’s.
Seating is something I take seriously I don’t want any of my guest standing. If you tell people to come in and have a seat you best make sure you have plenty of seating. On a recent trip to the metal scrape yard I came across a couple of metal chairs. Metal scrap yards are the best for finding things that can be redone pretty easy. To get out the door with these two chairs cost me a total of $6, now thats a great deal. The chairs I found don’t match but they don’t have to as long as you find a way to pull them together. I’m doing these chairs for my daughters new home. So green was on the menu and of course I used Valspar project paint. You want to make sure that you steel brush any rust off of the chairs and then wipe them down. Start your painting with a very light coat that you will be able to see the metal through. Let that dry completely before you start the second coat. You will need about 3 to 4 coats to give it a good solid cover. The right paint is important other wise your paint will peel and rust. That is why I use Valspar project paint, it has great coverage. This paint has a built-in primer and will cover plastic, metal and wood. It’s pretty much perfect for any project you want to do. No clear coat is needed because it is already built-in to the paint.
She has a great patio table with seating for 6, so these happy green chairs will sit off to the side for more seating. I’m sure that Greg will be happy to build me a table to sit between them. That will be at no cost because I’ll use wood from my stash pile. It doesn’t take much to add to your home. You just have to think outside of the normal box and add some color. Enjoy your home, every inch of it, every room. Don’t let things you don’t use get in the way of having the space you need for your family. Make a list of rooms and in that room make list of things that need to go. Do one room at a time so not to over whelm yourself. Monday is gonna be so great! I’m looking forward to all the blue happiness it can offer.
