When you have things in your home that you use on a daily basis organizing those things are important. It’s easy to just pile things in drawers or in a plastic tub and call it done. Taking that extra step to add decoratively organized drama makes it fun and pleasing to look at every day. I’m gonna take you on a journey through my house and studio to share with you some of my favorite organized areas. This is gonna be fun for me cause organizing makes me so h-a-p-p-y!
So lets start in my kitchen one of my favorite places to organize. I total believe in making it easy to find and get to things quick. I have lots of cabinets in my kitchen that are very deep. That is great when you are storing things away but when you have to find things that another story. I always find myself down on my knees dragging everything in the cabinet out just to find that one tray or bowl. I fixed this issue by installing sliding shelves in each lower cabinet. Some might say this will take away from space but really it helps you use the space wisely. I love this idea it can be used in any kitchen or bathroom.
On to the family room and all those throws and blankets. When the throws are all out and tossed about it makes the room look messy. Folding them up and placing them on the end of the sofa just invites the mess to come right back. Finding an old magazine rack and giving it a repurpose to store blankets and throws does 2 things. It cleans up your living space and your repurpose something that most people would just toss out. These magazine racks are easy to find at thrift stores, garage and estate sales or look around grandma’s house I’m sure she has one or two laying about. How fun painting them a great color or if you are lucky it will already have a great Finnish like mine.
My master bedroom has two of my favorite organized area’s. One is on my night table/desk where I keep my allergy meds and a sweet treat I have almost every night. Yes this health nut has a treat before she goes to sleep. I keep these things in a cute little box next to my pillows. It keeps my desk clear of clutter and my meds put away out of the reach of kiddo’s (AKA Ethan). I found this box at Hobby Lobby on the clearance for $6. My other favorite is a piece that was a spot light project on my blog. This great little organizer with all these drawers hangs on the wall in my bedroom. It houses all my oils that I use on a regular basis. I love it and no one has to see all those little bottles sitting around. I bought this little cabinet at a thrift store and repurposed it for what I needed it for. Adding the paint in blue and the whimsical knobs gave it a great vintage look that I love.
In my master bathroom I need storage for one of my over the top collections. I love love love brackets, I wear them everyday. I’m picking about how they are kept so I can see them all when I want to wear one. I found this great display piece at Bed Bath and Beyond for $20. I was excited because I’ve seen these many times before but only in black. This one was done in a burlap type fabric and matched my bathroom well.
I could go on and on with my favorite spots of organized drama spots in my house but I’ll just share these for now. If you need to organize things get on Pinterest or google organizing in my home. There are so many idea’s out there you just have to think outside of the box to make it all come together. I love my home decoratively organized it makes life easier when your home is happy. I hope that your Tuesday is Blue Happy and full of organizing ideas!
