This Texas weather is forever changing and not always for the good. I watched as so many of my gym friends who live in Wylie post picture of their leaking homes. My heart goes out to them as the rain keeps coming down. Will it ever sun shine again. Yes I’m sure but at this moment it seems no. My friend Rachel has 4 kids and she is having to deal with this mess all the while still being a mommy. As to those running buckets through out their homes and taking out carpet and walls that to will end.
This was gonna be a fun day for me, the day I was gonna finish up the vanity. I had it all prepared with sanding and fixing all the damage. I counted up all the votes and went and got the color of paint early this morning. I had it all ready but the rain and moisture in the air just kept coming and coming and coming. Painting with all the moisture in the air isn’t a good thing to do when the piece you are doing is so large that you have to do it outside of the studio. I could have moved the cars out of the garage and worked on it in there, but still the moisture and what if it starts to hail. That was a no go so plan B was to do what I could like the drawers, pick the hardware and decide on how the top of the vanity would be. Speaking of the top of the vanity, well let me tell you it’s gonna be something really nice. I’m doing a treatment I have never done before. I hope it comes out okay and I don’t have to just paint it out in the color. I want it to be different something that you don’t see every day. I will give you one hint…..no maybe not you have to wait until it’s finished. I’m hoping that it will be done on Tuesday but again it all depends on the Texas weather.
This weekend was a bit on the odd and on the weird side. We have been without TV and internet for over a week now. This makes for a VERY grumpy Greg. It’s been like entertaining a small child that has been grounded from his toys. If depression can be caused from lack of sun I’m sure it can be caused by a lack of electronics cause Greg is a case study. When we called we were told they would be out on Friday nope, then Saturday nope, then Sunday by 5:00 nope and still nothing works. Guess it back on the phone in the morning. Blogging using your phone is hard I type like I have 10 thumbs. It makes you appreciate all the things that make your life easier like a cozy bed and a good HGTV show. I might be going into withdrawals and thank goodness the Fixer up season had ended or someone would pay and pay big. LOL!!! BTW his smile is fake he was not having a good day nor a good week. He has been forced to do his job via iPhone. Not the best way to get things done on a daily bases.
All of this to say even the best laid weekend and life can be interrupted without any warning. You just have to look at the mess and figure away to the next step. The vanity will be finished, my friend’s house will be fixed and her kids will tell their kids about the big hail storm of 2016. Our TV and internet will get restored and life will once more be fine. In the big picture of it all blogging on my phone ain’t so bad and the real truth is we are all so blessed. God is bigger than any of this mess. I hope that you have a wonderful Monday after all it’s the best day of your week and a fresh new start to it all. Have a Blue Happy Day!
