Buying a home that was built-in the 90’s has its design issues. This house wasn’t removed from those problems. It had pee yellow gold fixtures and white 6×6 tiles from one end to the other. The brick was gray leaning to the brown side of the family and the fence had been sprayed a weird red-brown color. All the light fixtures also in the pee yellow gold were so out dated that some didn’t work. The bathrooms were filled with light peach fake marble, pee yellow gold brass and a large oversized tub that had seen better days. Can you tell I’m not a fan of the pee yellow brass in any room in any form. As you have seen on my blog we have pretty much redesigned the whole house, but there are a few rooms to go.
Greg use to just hate when I made a list of all the things we need to do around the house. These days he has jumped on the Blue Happy Living band wagon and started to enjoy it. Lets be honest can you imagine living with someone who continuously creates inside their head day in and day out. I’m mean really I would tell them to take a vacation and stop. Living in my head isn’t easy. I dream remodel and reorganize anytime I slow down. Oh heck I’m always thinking of way to change things down or up my head spins daily with this stuff. Over the years Greg has gotten attached to this craziness I call creativity.
So you have seen the master bedroom and bathroom, the kitchen, family and dinning room, poker room and pool bathroom now what is left to do? Well plenty but I do see a light at the end of this remodel tunnel. At the moment we are all torn apart in several rooms. Greg’s office is emptied out waiting on wood floors along with the two guest bedrooms. Once the floors go in I’ll be decorating with all my treasures and filling these rooms with things that we love. They are simple redo rooms because only Greg’s office has to be painted the other two rooms have already been done. So look forward in the next few weeks of these three rooms having reveals.
In the middle of this remodel I will be prepping the patio and front porch for spring. Spring comes early in Texas so yard work and flower beds will be top of the list of things to do. Although those things need to be done there is still a list that Greg and I will be checking off and getting done inside. The garage is due for some repairs and a floor redo. When you enter the house from he garage there is this room (walk through) called the laundry room. I call it a pass through because you pass through the washer and dryer as you walk in the back door. I so miss my laundry room I had in the Lucas house. It was roomy, had storage and a place to fold clothes. I may not be able to add room but I can organize it to be more functional for my home. We have a Jack & Jill bathroom that is still 90’s ugly and that will be the last big remodel. More than likely that will take place late summer just before school starts back. In the mean time our shop needs to be organized so we can find things a bit better. We have things we no longer need and it all needs to go. I think Greg is avoiding that one cause he doesn’t want me going through his little shop. The absolute final project in this house will be all the doors and base boards will need to be painted. I waited to the end to do this so not to damage them when we remodeled.
Wow it seems like a lot but its important to get this all finished so that we can move on to bigger a better things. Blue Happy is very busy making plans for the future and all our time will need to be focused on those things. I love-making a list of things to do and getting that list done. I can’t believe we are finally seeing a light at the end of this very long tunnel. I’m so excited to move on to other creative projects. Do you have a list of things you want to get done? If you don’t make one it’s good to see your path in front of you. Pick one thing and work on that before you know it you will be halfway through your list of things to do. Tuesday is a great day to start that list or check something off that list. I hope your Tuesday is a Blue Happy Day!
