Home sweet home is how I feel this morning. Being gone makes you appreciate the comforts of home and the return of reality.
The alarm went off early this morning but I was oh so happy to be back at my gym. With my workout done I was home and ready to go this morning by 7:30. So much to do and get done before my head hits the pillow tonight. Starting with writing my blog and sharing with you a bit of my trip and purchases.
We all know I bought t-shirts because I love them. I also grabbed up a t-shirt for my sweet grand son and a onesie for our new arrival in September. When every I go on vacation I try to find a Christmas ornament. This reminds us of our travels through the year. I found 2 great ornaments one from the Grand Ole Opry and the other from Lynchburg Tn. I loved the metal sign it will be a great addition to my patio fence. I finished off my personal shopping with a pretty summer dress. Can’t wait to have summer weather to wear it with cute flats.
Shopping for projects was top of the list. I’m very spoiled by the prices in Texas and Nashville is very proud of their things. Let’s just say I had priced shock the entire trip. Although things were high I managed to find some things I wanted. Be still my heart when we arrived at the Downtown Antique store. I found this beautiful iron piece. The store owner had no history on it but was sure it came from a higher end home or hotel and was used at a decorative piece in the porch railing. It’s is so beautiful and took two of use to get it into my truck. This piece will soon become a table on my patio. Greg is gonna be busy this weekend. Finding this cute little magazine rack was exciting. I’m gonna give it a new life with a new purpose. We found a store in Nashville called The Thrift store and Odd finds. They had old vintage things and lots of metal signs. The whiskey sign will make Greg happy on the patio. I was a bit disappointed I didn’t find and buy more but I’ve always stayed firm in buying only what I know I can use in a project.
Our trip ended in Arkansas at my brother and sister in laws home. As always they were gracious host. Pat had the sweetest gift for me it was a beautiful wood “M”. I can’t wait to hang it in the house. My brother and law had this amazing reclaimed wood. He offered me what ever I wanted. I picked one board that will be used on a metal piece for my guest room. You will love it!!
It was a great trip, great shopping and great time spent with Greg. I’m excited to share these projects with you. Tomorrow is a great project so come back and read up on that. I hope your Thursday is Blue Happy and full of life.
