The holidays are really just around the corner. I promised for the next few Fridays I would post CHRISTMAS projects. One of my favorite things to do during the holidays is to make and send my own Christmas card designs.
You do not have to be a great artist. Make this a family project so everyone can get involved. How excited family and friends will be to receive a handmade card.
You can purchase all you need at a local art store like Hobby Lobby. I like using watercolors but you could use markers, crayons or acrylic paint. Blank cards come in all size packages with envelopes and in many colors.
I used watercolors for my cards. The wreath is my favorite. I started with a circle. I freehand mine but you can trace around something to get yours if you need to. I started by adding a light green all the way around. Then adding a medium green then a darker green. I added berries and a bow. I washed in blues and grays for the background. I try to keep the words on the front simple, so the date does the trick.
There are so many things you can do like a snowman, Christmas tree, ornament or even a reindeer. Maybe you could do a theme that the entire family could be a part of. This is such a warm holiday project that can add Blue Happy to your holidays.
Do your own cards and send me pictures. I’ll be posting a few of my card ideas on Instagram. If you don’t follow me now you need to so you can see all that is Merry to come. Go be Blue Happy!
