Oh my I wish I could tell you that my bathroom remodel is finished but I can’t. You have no idea how sad that makes me. Not only because I can’t share the amazing remodel but also because this mess is driving me crazy.
Why is it taking so long, well let’s go back to the beginning. Weeks before school got out I made my plan got it approved with the hubs and it was a go. We got all the supplies ready, along with ordering the tile and set a date to gut the bathroom. I moved us out of the bedroom because this remodel includes that room as well.
The day came to demo and so we did. It was refreshing to get rid of all that old 1990’s style and watch it go away. All was going as planned. What I didn’t tell you on the first update was a week after school got out I broke my foot. I was preparing for an auction at school for a fundraiser and dropped a piece of furniture on my foot. I broke it in 2 places so my moving around was limited. Greg was left with the tools in hand to do most of the work. I’m not much of a complainer so I just wanted to pretend it didn’t happen. That’s why I didn’t say anything the first time. Why am I telling you now? Because that’s why this project has drug out over 10 weeks and not 4 like we planned.
So here we are 10 weeks later and only 1 week from school starting back. I have been in a panic because this has to be done before I go back to school so my life is not a total unorganized mess. Greg had to travel to New York so our plans to tile this week went down the drain. I’m a bit of a control freak so having someone tile for me was out of the question. Greg sat me down and said “We are hiring a tile guy to finish up the floor and shower”. Needless to say I was very upset because I was having to give up control and the money. The tile guy has been here 2 days and got more done than I would have gotten done in a week. He should be finished by Saturday! Okay so maybe I’m a bit excited and happy now that Greg put his foot down.
So next Thursday for sure I will give you the final blog on this remodel. So ready to move on to the next room. I had a few days of being a bit unhappy because of all the ups and downs of this remodel. My neighbor Nancy reminded me “you need to go outside and get some blue.” That’s just what I did I sat on my patio for about an hour. The results were I got over this mess and decided to just get Blue Happy!
