It is a positively Blue Happy Monday! I have come out of my fog mainly because my house is clean and the bathroom remodel is in the final stage. We started hanging art and we will move back in Thursday morning. We have to be patient as we finish the grout seal. There is 750 sq. ft. of tile WOW it’s tile for miles. I’m so excited to share it with you on Friday so watch the blog and see all the pictures. The featured image in today’s blog is a small teaser of the bathroom. This is the tile used in the shower. Great thing is Greg and I are still alive, we didn’t get a divorce and no one is buried under the new tile. LOL I’m just joking but there were some tense moments.
This bathroom remodel has taught me so much more than DIY. I think the most important thing is that not every remodel will go as planned. I’m a person that likes total perfection. I’m often teased about my house and my kitchen pantry that is so organized. I have a few friends that like to come to my house and move things around just to mess with me. Vacations are very hard for me because I like to have it all planned out and oh my if someone tries to change those plans I’m full on crazy. Most artist studios are very messy and disorganized but not mine. At home and at Wylie Prep I know where everything belongs and everything will be in its given place. It’s hard for me to function in my little world without organization.
I love to have projects so here we go again. As this project comes to an end the next project begins. I need a place to work at my home and art studio. As of this weekend the studio is off the ground. The design is drawn up and the supplies have been purchased. Over the next few weeks my studio will go from paper and chatter to walls, doors and windows. I’m so excited to have a place where Blue Happy Living can grow. I can’t wait for you to see this little studio, it is mostly made from old doors and windows. It will have lots of light and charm to do projects and be creative.
We are all so different in so many ways. Some like perfection, some are easy-going and some, well they just don’t really care one way or the other. DIY will teach you that you have to give a little sometimes. You can’t always have perfection but there is always a way to work through things. Greg and I both learned that on this project. I had to bend my design a bit to fit the issues that came about. I had to find a way to fit Greg’s ideas into my plans so we both were happy. I think we did just that.
Everyday we are all in a place where we might have to give a bit when we don’t want to. If you sit back and look at the overall picture and take into consideration the other person’s feelings bending isn’t that bad. It shows care and love to the other person. It’s easy to set your heels in the sand and refuse to move, but to bend is kind.
It’s easy to be hard and stand firm on your plans. Giving a bit softens your heart and gives you the pleasure of caring for someone’s feelings. I’m in such a better place once I softened my heart and let Greg have a part of the design. It all worked out in the end and we will have a Blue Happy Living space. Spend your week trying to bend a bit to show care to someone in your family, co-worker or friends. I’m sure if you do this you will make you Blue Happy!
