I can’t say that I have very happy news to report about my bathroom. I’ll be very honest, it’s not good news all. It will get finished but not by Thursday like I promised. We have had 2 different events occur that have slowed down our progress.
All was going well and the tile guys were more than 75% done. When suddenly it was “oh no!” Mistake number one: I hired a guy to put in the shower pan and the first row of concrete board on the shower walls so we knew it was safe and wouldn’t leak. The tile guy discovered that when they did the work they had put a screw through the plumbing. Out came the wall so the plumbing could be fixed. That added an extra day.
I thought we had everything back on track. Greg and I had planned a trip out of town for the weekend. We made arrangements with a friend to oversee the last day of tiling on Saturday. Well at 7:30 Saturday morning our friend got a text that said, “No work my truck is broke. Finish on Monday.” Great! Thought the tiling would be done when we got home on Sunday but it wasn’t.
Okay then Monday rolls around. I have to go to work and my husband was at home with the guys. I called to check in and he said he had to go get more tile. I didn’t really think anything about that until I got home and the tile was done all wrong on the edge of the shower walls. I had a panic attack because it wasn’t how I had envisioned the finish of the shower. Greg seemed to have a plan all worked out in his head, though.
I wasn’t so on board with his idea but have grown to like it more because it would be a very long wait to get more tile. We are back on track now and it really is coming to an end. So just a few more days until I can show it off to you. This one has taken a toll on me and Greg. I’m trying to stay positive but the truth is design and DIY isn’t always easy. The end will be so Blue Happy in more ways than one.
